Hummingbird Counselling

Hummingbird Counselling

Counselling for adults in Cheshunt, Waltham Cross and across Hertfordshire. A warm, steady, no-fluff approach to anxiety, trauma, grief, stress and low mood.

I offer support for both men and women, helping clients make sense of their emotions and improve their wellbeing.

Hi, I’m Julie Kelly — a therapeutic, integrative counsellor based in Cheshunt and Waltham Cross in East Hertfordshire, and I’m really glad you’ve found your way here. Honestly — if you’ve arrived after a long day of trying to find the right person to talk to, take a moment. You’ve just stepped into a gentler space.

I’m a Level 5 therapeutic counsellor, but more importantly, I’m someone who believes deeply in creating a space where you can breathe, soften, and not feel like you have to hold everything together. My training gives me the grounding to work safely and effectively, but it’s the human connection — the warmth, the steadiness, the sense that someone is genuinely with you — that shapes how I work. If you’d like to know more about me and the kind of space I offer, I’d love to share that with you.

Hummingbird Counselling is a space I’ve poured a lot of heart into, shaped by a wealth of counselling experience across NHS Talking Therapies, Hertfordshire Mind Network, and private practice. I support adults through anxiety, grief, low mood, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, and those “I’m-not-quite-sure-what’s-wrong-but-something-is” moments we all face.

One thing I’ve learned is that there’s no perfect way to feel, cope, or heal — and definitely no gold star chart for life. But if there were, you’d absolutely be getting one for landing here today.

You might be here because something feels heavy or unclear. Maybe life has shifted suddenly, or perhaps you’ve been quietly carrying more than anyone realises. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to make sense of it alone. I offer a warm, grounded counselling space where you can pause, exhale, and feel genuinely heard — like the emotional equivalent of being handed a cosy blanket.

I work integratively, which means I shape therapy around you. Some people come wanting support with something specific, such as anxiety, bereavement, self-esteem, burnout, or relationship difficulties. Others simply know something isn’t sitting right. However it looks for you, we’ll explore things gently, at your pace, without pressure or judgment.

I offer in-person counselling in Cheshunt and Waltham Cross, and online counselling across the UK and internationally — ideal if you’re juggling a busy life, not local, or just feel safer exploring your feelings while wearing comfy socks.

Counselling is for everyone — and whoever you are, you’re welcome here. Feel free to explore the site, learn more about how I work, and get a sense of whether I’m the right counsellor for you.

Whenever you’re ready, we’ll take things one step at a time. Even if the path ahead feels uncertain, we’ll navigate it together.
